All-Women’s College
Olya Bezvushko

You are facing so many options while looking for the right college. You consider their size, cost and academics, but have you ever considered going to an all-women's college?

Not so long ago, I’ve read about one research, which tried to compare the experience of female students at women's colleges, coeducational private liberal arts colleges. It was discovered that women in all-women colleges are more engaged and more likely to experience high levels of academic challenge, engage in active and collaborative learning to a higher degree, and take part in activities that provide opportunities to integrate their curricular and co-curricular experiences. Women at women's colleges tend to succeed in studying subjects such as science and math – subject and career areas in which women are traditionally underrepresented.

Girl, who attend such colleges or those who have already graduated from them, characterize their educational process as “challenge”. They think that their, a kind of unusual nowadays, experience challenge and supporte them to take risks, guide and give the courage to navigate the way out of the comfort zone. Besides, it helps to set higher expectations for girls to achieve greater goals.

If you don’t mind, I’d like to discus with you some reasons why it is good to choose a women’s college.
First of all, women’s colleges have proved their value over a lifetime. Graduates from such colleges succeed in entering a range of career fields and graduate programs, regardless of their undergraduate major. More than 95% of women's college alumnae believe the financial investment in their education was worthwhile and that the intellectual and personal capacities they gained are extremely important to them.

Secondly, women's colleges surpass public and private colleges in helping students learn to think analytically, bring social and historical perspective to issues, work as part of a team, write and speak effectively, make sound decisions, gain entry to a career, prepare for career change or advancement, and be politically and socially aware.

Thirdly, all women’s colleges are thought to have a high quality teaching-oriented faculty. Graduates dedicate their life success to great mentoring in women’s colleges, personal interaction with professors and small classes.

Finally, women’s colleges are famous for creating leaders, communicators and persuaders.

When you are looking for a school in USA consider such option as all-women’s colleges, it may turn to be a great experience!
